I was having this issue for a long time now and luckily found a trick in OTN to overcome this.
When you have a column with more than 16 digit number in your OBIEE 10g report and if you export the report to excel, MS Excel converts the number to an exponential value.
eg: 1234E67898765432 to 123 E+79
This can be avoided by following suggestion provided by Satya in OTN forum below.

There are other ways to fix these numbers but I think this is the best option as it would not require Users to go through the process of converting.
